Cocolalla Lake, Bonner County

Cocolalla Lake, Bonner County, ID Cocolalla Lake comprises approximately 805 acres in Bonner County, Idaho. It offers numerous year-round recreational and sport opportunities. Cocolalla Lake is fed by Cocolalla Creek, which provides spawning habitat for brown, rainbow, cutthroat and brook trout. Boat and shoreline fishing access are offered on the northeast and east shoreline.

In summer of 2006, the Cocolalla Lake Association (CLA) was awarded ISDA funds to treat the invasive aquatic plant Eurasian Watermilfoil. After the 2007 follow-up treatment, Cocolalla Lake appears free of this invasive weed, and the CLA intends to continue monitoring through 2008.

With the participation of Idaho Department of Fish and Game, in 2007 the CLA constructed a Lake Host facility at the north end of the lake near the public boat launch. This will provide an effective choke point against the spread of Eurasian Watermilfoil to or from the lake. _________________________________________________________________
