Idaho's Chemigation Program

Chemigation means any process whereby fertilizers or pesticides are added to irrigation water applied to land, crops or plants through an irrigation system, such as, but not limited to, agriculture, nursery, turf, lawn, golf course and greenhouse sites. Pesticide can refer to herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, rodenticides, etc. Chemigation may be used with surface, sprinkler and drip irrigation systems. Backflow is the reverse flow of water and chemical towards the irrigation water source, a process that the chemigation law is designed to prevent.
