Specialty Crop Grants
Funding decisions for 2013 funding have been completed. Please check back in January 2014 for information on the 2014 Specialty Crop Block Grant application round.
The United States Department of Agriculture has allocated Specialty Crop Block Grants to the state and ISDA has passed through over $3.5 million competitive grants which have funded 48 projects since 2009. These projects solely enhance the competitiveness of U.S.-grown specialty crops in either domestic or foreign markets and provide a benefit to more than just the applicant. Specialty crops include fruits and vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, and horticulture and nursery crops, including floriculture. Projects are evaluated on how well they enhance the competitiveness of Idaho’s specialty crops, soundness and quality of the project plan, measurable outcomes, and return on investment. The links below provide detailed information on how to apply, as well as a complete set of application documents.
