Trade Leads

The Market Development Division can be thought of as a clearing house for trade leads, which are received from various sources throughout the world. The Division passes the leads on to the relevant companies.  For example, if a trade lead is received from a company seeking to purchase peas and lentils, all Idaho pea and lentil companies will be notified of this opportunity. The Division is then available to assist in following up with the potential buyers.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) has posts around the world that regularly receive requests for various agricultural products. FAS can automatically notify companies each time a new trade leads is received. If you would like to be notified automatically, click here to complete a short company profile on the USDA website.

In addition to the leads from USDA, leads from other sources including Idaho's international trade offices are received on a regular basis. If you would like to be added to an email list, please Contact Us, specifying the product or category for which you would like the leads.
