Swine is defined as "All breeds of domestic porcine and all wild exotic porcine" in IDAPA 02.04.03, Rules Governing Animal Industry. Please peruse this rule as well as IDAPA 02.04.21, Rules Governing the Importation of Animals for additional information, and don't hesitate to call with any questions.

All swine require a permit from the Idaho State Department of Agriculture.

Psuedorabies: Please call our office for importation if swine originate from a state or area which is not stage IV or V.

All swine require a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection, on which they are individually identified, from the state of origin.

Idaho does not accept any swine who have been fed raw garbage or who have been vaccinated with any psuedorabies vaccine. A statement attesting to both must be recorded on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection.

All breeding swine not originating from a Brucellosis free herd or Brucellosis free state must have a negative Brucellosis test within 30 days of movement into Idaho.
