A dairy farm must comply with several state, federal and county requirements for the design, construction, and approval of new or expanded facilities. Some county requirements relating to setbacks, animal numbers, and other conditional provisions may differ depending on the county. Dairies are governed by Idaho Code and the Idaho State Department of Agriculture IDAPA Rules, (See Laws & Rules page).
