Meet the Staff

Laura M. Johnson - Bureau Chief
Laura joined the Market Development Division in 1991. As Section Manager she oversees the division’s domestic and international programs and serves as the Department’s Legislative Liaison. Laura is a 1996 graduate of Leadership Idaho Agriculture. In 2005, she received a “40 under 40” recognition by American Food and Ag Exporter Magazine as one of 40 individuals across the country under 40 with significant contributions to agricultural exports. In 2007, she was recognized by Produce Business Magazine as one of the nation’s “40 Under 40” young leaders in the produce industry. She is currently a member of the Meridian FFA Alumni and is a past Idaho FFA State President. She received a bachelor's degree in marketing from the College of Business at Boise State University in 1990. Prior to joining the Department, Laura was a Marketing Assistant at Les Bois Park. She enjoys horseback riding, snowmobiling, golf, camping, hunting and most importantly her daughter Taylor.

Leah Clark - Trade Specialist/Idaho Preferred®
Leah joined the Market Development Division of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture in May 2004. Leah works on the Idaho Preferred® program conducting retail, foodservice, education and public relations promotions to increase consumer demand for Idaho food and agriculture products. Prior to joining the Idaho State Department of Agriculture, Leah served as the Executive Director of the Idaho Beef Council for 15 years. She has a Bachelors degree in Agribusiness Management from Arizona State University and a Master of Agriculture degree in Marketing and Finance from Oklahoma State University.

Skylar Jett- Trade Specialist
Skylar joined the Market Development Division in 2010 as the international intern and in 2011 was hired on full-time. She has spent the last four years working on the Idaho Preferred® program. Skylar is a graduate from Boise State University. She studied International Business and Spanish with minors in Economics and Latin American Studies. During her studies at BSU, Skylar was able to live and go to school abroad in Spain and Germany. She is excited to continue to work on promoting Idaho products both domestically and now internationally.

Eric Boyington - Commerce Development Analyst, Assoc.
Eric joined the Marketing Development Division of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture, in June 2015. He manages Idaho's Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, which is a program that enhances the competitiveness of Idaho-grown specialty crops. Prior to joining the Department, he worked at the Idaho Department of Labor. He also has a background in data analysis and law. He received his bachelor's degree in economics at Boise State University, and his law degree from Seattle University School of Law.

Paris Dickerson - Trade Specialist
Paris joined the Market Development Division of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture in October of 2015. Paris' academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in International Business with minors in Economics and Chinese Studies from Boise State University and a Master's of Public Administration from the University of Montana. While at Boise State University Paris interned with the Idaho District Export Council in the Export Excellence program. Prior to joining ISDA Paris developed and facilitated business-to-business relationships for First American Title Company of Montana. Community involvement is important to Paris. In 2014 she was selected as the Court Appointed Special Advocate of the Year for Missoula County. In 2015 she served as Chair of Parade of Homes for the Missoula Building Industry Association.

Chelsea Conlon - Trade Specialist
Chelsea joined the Market Development Division on April 10.  Chelsea has a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Boise State University with a minor in Japanese.  She also spent nearly a year at Hosei University in Tokyo in the Japanese Studies program.  Fluent in Japanese, she has experience in marketing plan development, consumer research and presentation tools and software.  

Most recently she worked at the Idaho Industrial Commission as a Benefit Analyst where her responsibilities included coordinating workshops and conducting presentations (among many other things).  She has been active in numerous service organizations and comes to the Marketing Division with a great deal of enthusiasm for marketing Idaho agriculture around the globe. 

Megan Harper - Commerce Development Analyst / Idaho Preferred®
Megan Harper joined the Market Development Division in May 2017. Megan has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho in Organizational Sciences and a minor in Communications. Growing up on a farm in Homedale, Idaho Megan has a passion for supporting local. She was involved in 4-H and FFA; she will be utilizing this passion within the Idaho Preferred Program. She brings knowledge to the group with her past experience of customer service, coordinating events and organizational skills.

Brock Cornell - Office Specialist 2
Brock Cornell joined the Marketing Development Division in July 2016. From a military family, Brock has lived all over the U.S. as well as parts of Asia. He has lived in the Boise area for much of the last 15 years. Brock studied Marketing at CWI. He brings years of experience in I.T., web/ graphic design and public relations to the marketing division.
